Damages are NOT covered under warranty.

Repair & parts warranty

All our repairs come with Techbase warranty* for peace of mind. This is 6 months on batteries and 12 months on any other parts we replace. T&C’s apply*

*Our warranty covers parts we have replaced, we do not warrant anything else on the device. 

*Our warranty covers defects and faults with our parts only. It does not cover ANY form of damages. Physical, accidental, and liquid damages are not covered under our warranty. Our warranty may also be invalidated if a third-party tampers with our work. Our warranty also does not cover failure of any part which we have replaced, which has failed due to an additional / new / separate fault with the device. Our warranty excludes issues created by a software update or bug from from an update that renders a part inoperable.  

Used device warranty

All our used devices come with either 12 months Techbase Warranty* or the remainder of the manufacturer warranty – whichever is greater. The battery is covered for 6 months.

*T&C’s apply. Warranty covers faults & defects only. Physical, accidental, and liquid damages are not covered under our warranty. Our warranty may also be invalidated if a third-party tampers with the device. Our warranty excludes ALL faults and issues created by a software update or bug from from an update that renders a part inoperable.  

Quality

All our used devices go through a multi-point check so you can be rest-assured you’re getting a quality used device. Warranty (T&C’s above) offers further peace of mind. 

Quality parts

If we change any parts, we’ll use either high quality aftermarket or genuine / original parts depending what part it is. Sometimes the device will notify you that parts have been changed. 

Price / value promise

If you find a used like-for-like device cheaper anywhere locally, we’ll try our best to match the price or offer better value.

When looking at used devices, consider things such as battery health, screen type, chassis condition, age, etc.

If we’re unable to match a price for any reason, we’ll explain why and you can then decide which device to purchase.

 

Battery

The device will come with 6 months battery warranty. T&C’s apply.

Blacklisted / Blocked devices – we cover this, T&C’s apply*

As a business, we take every precaution realistically possible to avoid buying devices that will become blocked. We run CheckMend reports on every device we buy in from walk-in customers. CheckMend reports check national databases and ensure the device is clean at point of purchase. We also only pay customers via bank-transfer, never cash. This rules out a lot of risk as every transaction is traceable and we can prove that we purchased the device legitimately. Visit www.checkmend.com/uk/ for more info.

*When buying and selling used devices, there’s always a small risk that a device may become black-listed / blocked. This usually happens if someone reports a device lost or stolen or fails to pay numerous bills on their contract. If you buy an approved-used device from Techbase, we will swap the device out like-for-like if it does get blacklisted or blocked by the previous owner. If the device is damaged and comes back to us blocked, we will still swap the device out like-for-like if you pay for the damages, or we will remove the (blacklisted / blocked) main-board from your damaged device and replace it with a motherboard from another device that isn’t blacklisted. 

If you (customer) have had the device blacklisted, for example, claimed on insurance yourself – we will NOT swap the device as you blacklisting the device is not our responsibility and does not fall within the above circumstance. 

We may require time to get another device in stock, usually a few days.

If we cannot get the same device, we will swap the blacklisted / blocked device for something of a similar value at today’s price, NOT what was paid for the device. For example, if you buy a phone from us for £300 and 11 months later it’s worth £200, we’ll swap it out for the same model again or something of similar value, in this example, circa £200. 

Faults that cannot be repaired

Sometimes we’ll come across a fault that we simply cannot repair. In this rare circumstance we will swap the device out like-for-like if the device is not damaged. If the device is damaged, it’s highly likely your warranty will be void and we will not swap the device out or repair the fault as the damages possibly caused the fault to begin with. However, we’re always fair and realistic in our approach to warranty claims so this is assessed case by case. Liquid damage voids all warranties and is absolutely none-negotiable. We will NOT fix or swap-out a liquid damaged device under warranty. 

We may require time to get another device in stock, usually a few days.

If we cannot get the same device, we will swap the none-repairable device out with something of a similar value at today’s price, NOT what was paid for the device. For example, if you buy a phone from us for £300 and 11 months later it’s worth £200, we’ll swap it out for the same model again or something of similar value, in this example, circa £200.

 

Refurbished display panel warranty

What do we replace?

When we refurbish your original display panel we are replacing either just the glass, or the glass and touch panel. We’ll only warrant what we actually replace. 

Display failure

If you have had your original display panel refurbished and your display fails after the repair, this will NOT be covered as the display is still the original part and we’re not replacing the display itself.

If the display fails during the refurbishment process, we will replace it with an original or aftermarket display depending upon availability and viability at no extra cost to the customer.

Touch panel

If we replace the touch panel during the refurbishment process, it’ll be covered under our warranty if it fails. T&C’s apply, so damages aren’t covered. If we do not replace the touch panel and it fails, this is still the original part so it will not be covered.

Dead pixels / bleeds

Dead pixels and bleeds are defects within the original display and are not covered under warranty. 

Remember, refurbishing your original screen is cheaper than replacing it because only the Glass is being replaced (and maybe the touch panel) - you're not paying for an entire screen. Hence the actual display panel not being covered.

Also to be aware of,

IMEI & Serial numbers

Every device we repair, we keep a record of the device unique identity number, usually the IMEI or serial number. In the event of a warranty claim, we’ll check this number matches with the device you physically bring back to us. If the device you’re bringing back, is not the device we repaired, we will know because the numbers won’t match.

 

Data

Data is the customers responsibility. We take NO responsibility for data and every repair carries risk of data-loss. More info regarding this can be found in our FAQ section.

 

Device condition

 We make a note of the device condition before we work on it. We will not cover any pre-existing damages. 

 

Warranty claims

We will never unreasonably deny a warranty repair. We will only deny warranty work if there’s physical or liquid damages or if an unrelated component has failed or a software issue is present. 

Our warranty covers faulty / defective parts.  

*Liquid damage will invalidate all warranties.
